Russ’ radio broadcasting career spans 30 years and two coasts with management and performance positions in San Francisco, Dallas, Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale. Russ has managed million dollar plus marketing and promotional budgets as well as ad campaigns in multiple major markets. As a former small business owner, he understands the need for economy without sacrificing quality or risking perception.
Russ served as Director of Programming in San Francisco, Dallas, Orlando, Memphis, and West Palm Beach. Duties included budgeting, directing staff, coaching talent, recruiting and hiring, marketing, developing promotions, administering and implementing results from perceptual studies, interfacing with sales, creative production, client relations, special event management, and consumer research.
Russ also worked under Jon Coleman, the President of Coleman Research, and administered and facilitated many focus groups as well as telephonic surveys. He was co-owner and in charge of new business development/client relations for Vogue Travel for 8 years in West Palm Beach, which he sold in 1998. He has administered and created numerous direct mail, outdoor, and television advertising and marketing campaigns including a national TV campaign for a consumer medical product. He has written, directed, and appeared in television commercials in West Palm, Orlando, and San Francisco.
Until December of 2010, Russ was hosting the morning news and talk radio program on WFTL in Fort Lauderdale, which provided him with a comprehensive contact list including celebrities and political figures.
Russ is in the process of becoming a SEO and inbound marketing specialist. He has his bachelors in marketing from West Virginia University. A former board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Russ has overseen numerous dinner/auction and festival events. Russ believes that a distinct and easily communicated vision is vital to branding, imaging, and positioning.
Russ has two daughters, Noelle 17 and Natalie 15, and is a deacon at Jupiter First Church.
