She was most recently president of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center Foundation (Juno Beach, FL), a non-profit sea turtle hospital responsible for all aspects of fund raising, marketing and communications. Nanette designed and successfully managed a $6 million capital campaign for construction of a new 12,000 sq. foot Loggerhead Marinelife Center campus and lead the organization through the campaign, construction and relocation to a new, greatly expanded facility.
She served as the center’s executive director for 6 years prior to assuming the position of foundation president. A native New Yorker, she relocated to Palm Beach County in 1990 to open Tiffany & Co., Palm Beach. As vice president, Nanette oversaw all aspects of facility operations and business development and served as the company spokesperson, which required frequent public speaking engagements in person, on radio broadcasts and television appearances. In addition, she has served on many non-profit boards and committees.
Nanette initially left the retail environment to manage a $2 million capital campaign for the Alex W. Dreyfoos, Jr. School of the Arts. Upon successful completion of the campaign Nanette went on to create the first development department for a new arts-in-education nonprofit, the Center for Creative Education.
Nanette has prepared and submitted grants to private and corporate foundations, and federal, state and local government programs including, National Marine Fisheries, National Fish & Wildlife, State of Florida Cultural Facilities, Palm Beach County Cultural Council and Florida Power & Light Company.
Nanette continues to expand her knowledge of the natural environment and has completed one of three Master Naturalist Programs (Freshwater Wetland Systems of Florida) provided University of Florida IFAS Extension. |
