Members of Charlotte’s team executed the public relations campaign for the 2009 South Florida “Race for the Cure.” Working closely with the campaign committee and the leadership of the major partners (FPL, Ford and National City Bank), the team’s goals were to increasing race participation and media coverage while also promoting the critical programs offered by the Komen Foundation. Specific outcomes from our work included significant coverage through every medium; getting profiles of women in neighborhood news sections and on the region’s major TV network stations; maximizing online registration; and increasing overall race revenues and participation over the previous year.
