Austin, Texas Strategic planning With significant business challenges facing members of this venerable independent building materials dealers’ trade association, LAT’s board of directors selected Charlotte and her team to conduct a strategic planning process that engaged its member companies across Texas and Louisiana. Among the challenges addressed during the nine-month process were member services and how best to deliver them, membership retention and recruitment to ensure the future of LAT and its members, and methods and means to remain relevant to members during challenging economic times while reducing LAT’s operating costs and members’ costs to participate. “The team Charlotte assembled to work with us to develop our plan became an integral part of LAT for most of a year. They took care to really engage our members during the process. Each member came away feeling that their voices were heard, that their opinions were relevant, and that their ideas were value; and as a result, our members really bought into and have supported the resulting plan. We experienced such success in using Charlotte and her team to help us develop our plan that we brought her back to facilitate a retreat to ensure we stay on track, and she has continued to coach us to success in the implementation of our plan.”
